*PROGRAMME REVIEW* WWF (WWE) European Rampage Again Tour 1992

This Monday we will be covering this programme, the 1992 European Rampage Again Tour. 

This tour ran from April 10th until April 19th and covered Barcelona. Milan, Wembley, Munich, Frankfurt, Dortmund, Birmingham, Glasgow, Rotterdam, Brussels, Kiel, Wembley, Belfast, Dublin, Glasgow, Birmingham and Sheffield. 

First page is an advertisement for the 1992 Superstars sticker collection, next to this is the WWF president's letter and a list of tour dates. 

First two page superstar is Ric Flair. Interesting to note this programme, unlike the last we reviewed is only in English, no German. 

Next up in another two page spread is Jake The Snake Roberts, followed by The Undertaker with Paul Bearer. 

Sid Justice is next, also in a two page spread, managed by Harvey Whippleman. 

Fan favourite British Bulldog is next in the programme followed by a two page spread on Rowdy Roddy Piper.

Bret Hart follows on from Roddy Piper, again, in a two page spread.

Randy Savage is up next with Miss Elizabeth with a low down on each. After them the next two page feature is on Legion of Doom.

Centre pages is a selection of photos entitled WWF conquers Europe. It features photos from London, Glasgow and Paris.

What follows is two pages of tag teams. Each having a one page spread, The Nasty Boys with Jimmy Hart and the Bushwhackers. They have joint low downs.

After that we have four superstars over two pages. Sgt. Slaughter & Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Million Dollar Man and I.R.S. Unlike the previous tag teams they still recognise these superstars as individual wrestlers.

Following this is two one page spreads on The Model Rick Martel and Shawn Michaels with Sensational Sherri. Warlord and Repo Man are next, both also with one page spreads.

The next two pages are Big Boss Man and El Matador, both with one page spreads.

Interesting to note, on the next page is an advertisement for Summerslam 1992. As of this programme going to print they were still going to be hosting Summerslam in Washington. They are advertising travel packages/holidays for UK fans including 10 days in Florida, a weekend in Washington and premium tickets to Summerslam. Prices started from £650 for adults and £350 for children.

They are also advertising travel packages for Survivor Series.

Next to this advertisement is a one page spread on Dino Bravo. 

Up next is the pages on lower card superstars. Over two pages is Tatanka, Virgil, Colonel Mustafa and Papa Shango. 

Following on from this is a one page advertisement for WWF videos, next to which is two more superstars, one page between them, the Berzerker and Kato.

Another advertisement for WWF videos and then another shared page for Owen Hart and Skinner. 

The last two pages of the programme are adverts for a computer game, the merchandise catalogue and the fancamera at venues.

Back page is another advertisement for WWF videos.

*PROGRAMME REVIEW* WWF (WWE) Summer Tour 1993 European Tour

Thought we would mix it up a bit for this post and review a programme. In the spotlight today is the Summer Tour 1993 Official Souvenir Programme. This was a European tour that covered Austria, Germany and the United Kingdom. Also interesting to note, considering what a big presence he had in the programme, was that this was Hulk Hogan's last European tour before leaving for WCW.

This post will not be as text heavy as a magazine review as I'm sure you can understand but what we will be doing is listing the superstars contained and how much space they were allocated in the programme with a few pictures along the way.

First up is an open letter to the fans from Jack Tunney along side an advert for Silver Vision's newest releases.

On the following two pages we have our first superstar which is, of course, Hulk Hogan. The text on all of these pages is written in both English and German.

Next up is Yokozuna, another two page spread with pictures and text.

Following Yokozuna is Hacksaw Jim Duggan, another two page spread featuring text and pictures.

Crush follows Hacksaw with a two page spread, again featuring text and pictures.

After Crush we have The Steiner Brothers, again, text and pictures on two pages. The Head Shrinkers have the same, two page spread with text and pictures.

The centre pages are focused on Hulk Hogan and Hulkamania. These pages feature a series of photos of Hulk Hogan in and out of ring with and without fans. A sentence accompanies each photo.

After the centre pages we move on to the one page superstars.

Up first is Tatanka with Bam Bam Bigelow on the opposite page, both with text and one additional picture each along with the main picture.

Papa Shango sits to the right of an advert for the Royal Rumble video game. Again, he has text and one additional picture, same as the picture above.

El Matador sits opposite two adverts. One for badges and one for t-shirts.

El Matador also has text and one additional picture.

Next up is Predator ( Horace Hogan, nephew of Hulk Hogan) with, as you can see, text and one additional photo on a one page spread.

Bastian Booger follows Predator with, you've got it, text and one additional photo.

Terrific Terry Taylor and Brutus 'The Barber' Beefcake are next. Both with text but Brutus does not have an additional photo.

The last two pages hold adverts.

Back page is a German advert for WWF Magazine.

*MAGAZINE REVIEW* WWF (WWE) Magazine August 1992

A new week is upon us and a new week now starts with a new blog post from us. Today we are focusing on the August 1992 issue of WWF magazine featuring The British Bulldog on the cover. 

Cover headlines this month were about Summerslam being hosted at Wembley, The British Bulldog, Tatanka, Boss Man (and Nailz) and Sgt Slaughter. 

Next to the contents is an advertisement for WBF Bodystars. 'The television show that is revolutionizing the world of bodybuilding!' This was Vince McMahon's foray into the world of professional bodybuilding which subsequently ended in 1992. 

First article in this issue is the monthly editors letter 'Around the ring' by Ed Ricciuti. This month's covers Randy Savage and Ric Flair, Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels and much more. Next to this is an advertisement for WWF Prime Time Wrestling, noting the TV channel and day and time of airing. The advert starts with the line '6 symptoms of WWF wrestling withdrawal' and details such things as 'You act like a ring announcer', 'You feel like you've spent a day in the ring' and 'You wake up feeling like you're on the ropes.' I think we can all agree with these, haha.

Then comes the monthly fan forum and Brainstorms by Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, both one page articles respectively. 

First big article (2 pages) is Newsbreakers, talking about the upcoming Summerslam at Wembley. They discuss the history of Wembley Stadium and have a quote from The British Bulldog.

Personality profile this month was Kamala due to his return to the World Wrestling Federation, this is a two page article.

In a somewhat British themed issue due to the upcoming Summerslam, this months interview was with The British Bulldog. In a 4 page article The British Bulldog talks about Repo Man (after he lynched The British Bulldog in Battle Of The Titans last issue) and somewhat covers his training and nutrition.

Next up is a 6 page article 'Big Boss Man vs Berzerker In Birmingham' which is an on the scene report from the WWF's recent European tour. The introduction starts with mentioning Big Boss Man visiting Brixton prison and points out that the card at the NEC Birmingham sold out in just three hours! Quite comically they write "At the very same moment, locals relaxing at a popular pub on Birmingham's busiest street rushed towards the window to view a most unusual sight. Trudging through the streets of this industrial city in central England was the massive Bezerker, complete with Viking helmet and sword." It then goes on to detail the match that took place.

Another quote to note from this article which may amuse you.

"The British fans - normally more polite than their North American counterparts - could clearly read his motives, and they responded by standing up and jeering loudly."

 Next up is a 6 page article entitled 'Is the Warrior reeling under Papa Shango's spell?' This is discussing Papa Shango's claims that he has cast an evil curse over the Ultimate Warrior, a claim that Warrior denies. 

After a one page feature, WWF Trivia, we come to the 1992/1993 Fall/Winter WWF Merchandise Catalog.

It is always interesting to look back through these and see what was available to purchase at the time.

This time the catalog is 13 pages and features merchandise for stars such as Randy Savage, Hulk Hogan, the Undertaker, Bret Hart and more. 

A four page feature is next entitled 'Assault in the first degree. Nailz hammers the Big Boss Man!' This is 3 pages of picture and a mock Police incident report.

There is a 6 page feature on High Energy, Owen Hart and Koko B. Ware.

Following this is a 4 page feature on Tatanka.

A four page article entitled 'Sparking the Sarge' discusses the feud between Sgt Slaughter and The Mountie. It starts with a little history lesson about the relationship between Canada and America after the Revolutionary War and proceeds to discuss Sgt Slaughter and The Mountie feud  in their War of 1992. They also mention The Mountie's new 'Electrocution Machine'.

The Private Eye article called 'The WWF spans the Globe!' shows photographs from the recent WWF European Rampage Again tour and hints at another European tour is on the cards in this 4 page feature.

A two page feature follows giving small bites of news on a few superstars.

Viewpoint with LOD and Paul Ellering is next, a one page feature followed by the crossword and some more advertising. Last page is 'Caught In The Act' which is a picture of Beau Beverly bungee jumping with a small paragraph of writing.

The back of the magazine has an advertisment for Summerslam featuring Randy Savage and Ultimate Warrior.

*MAGAZINE REVIEW* WWE Magazine April 2010

Seeing as we've not long come out of Wrestlemania season and it is April we thought we would start with April 2010's issue of WWE Magazine. This particular issue is quite special in the fact it had 26 collectible covers (to celebrate Wrestlemania 26 in Phoenix, AZ). Only 4 of these covers were available in the UK (The Undertaker, Triple H, John Cena and Rey Mysterio) whereas all 26 were available in America. 

The full list of cover stars are as follows Santino Marella, John Cena, Triple H, Undertaker, Bret Hart, Rey Mysterio, Edge, Big Show, John Morrison, Kane, Kofi Kingston, Sheamus, Ted DiBiase, Cody Rhodes, The Miz, Jack Swagger, Evan Bourne, Drew McIntyre, Christian, CM Punk, Chris Jericho, Batista, Randy Orton, R-Truth, MVP and Shawn Michaels.

Although the covers are different, the content in the magazine is the same regardless of cover star so you won't be missing any exclusive content by not collecting them all. 

Every issue also came with a double sided poster. On one side you have a picture of Mickie James which correlates with the article inside the magazine talking about her music (more about that later).

The other side of the poster is a collection of pictures of all 26 covers of this issue with the tagline 'Celebrating 26 years of history'

I will note some of the the smaller articles and points of interest (not all) and then move on to the larger articles and points of interest in more detail.

There is a small one page article covering the Royal Rumble, in particular a picture from the Royal Rumble featuring Kane, John Morrison, Drew McIntyre and Triple H with a smattering of facts regarding the superstars pictured such as when each won their first IC Championship, detailing the date and place, whether a PPV or RAW and against whom. 

Jerk of the month this month was CM Punk when he was leader of the SES. 

The magazine rewind for this month was back to April 1998 which featured Shawn Michael and Stone Cold Steve Austin on the cover. There is a two page article on Bret Harts greatest hits, a time line pointing out note worthy moments in his career to celebrate the release of the DVD Hart & Soul: The Hart Family Anthology. Fantasy Warfare this month was Jimmy Superfly Snuka vs Batista with Batista being victorious. 

Cash for questions this month was with Evan Bourne with fans asking him questions such as 'You can pull off some extra-ordinary moves. But what's the one maneuver that impresses even you?' and 'Name the most thrilling match you've contested thus far in WWE.'

Following that is a two page feature entitled 'The Ultimate McMahon quiz'. 

Debating Divas this month, Alicia Fox and Eve, answer relationship questions in a two page feature. Including 'My girlfriend tagged me on Facebook as "in a relationship." Can I decline without looking like a noncommiting jerk?' Both Alicia and Eve give answers for each question. 

Chris Masters is asked what is in his travel bag this issue (his signature scent is Gucci by Gucci) and there is a one page article on motorbikes. 

John Morrison presents the parkour workout in a two page article detailing 4 different exercises. 

There are the usual review pages on accessories, male grooming items, games and so forth. 

The insider match of the month was Rey Mysterio vs CM Punk 2/12 on Smackdown. Jerk of the year nominee was Vince for screwing Bret Hart again on 2/1 and 2/8 editions of RAW. 

And the magazine finishes with a one page interview with IRS talking about his time with the WWE and his character. Last page being You Had To Be There featuring Zack Ryder this issue. 

If you are a fan of either of the two big fan favourites then this issue will be of great interest to you.

There is a two page feature with Bret Hart entitled Excellence Lives Forever where he talks about many things including that night in Montreal and Shawn Michaels.

If Shawn was your favourite of the two, there is also an interview with him (4 page feature) entitled The Heartbreak Kid Grows Up.

In which he talks about a variety of things including meeting Bret Hart face to face after 12 years at RAW 1/4/10, his ponytail, WCW, The Rockers and more. 

Mickie James has a four page feature talking about her debut country album Strangers & Angels and the WWE.

Arguably, the main point of interest in this issue is a 6 page article entitled 'My First Wrestlemania' featuring stars such as Bret Hart, John Morrison, Matt Hardy, Chris Jericho, CM Punk, Shawn Michaels and more looking back at their first Wrestlemania as a superstar. Each has about a paragraph detailing their first Wrestlemania, what happened and their feelings and emotions on the day.

We've created a blog in order to give you all a closer look at the magazines we sell, because, lets face it, yeah the covers are cool but you want to know that whats behind the cover is cool too right?! This is where this blog comes in, we will be impartially reviewing magazines we have available on our eBay so you can be well informed when making your purchase.
